ROADSIDE PICNIC is a Seoul-based independent studio, but our work definitely goes beyond this region.
We dive into graphic design, woodworking and fabrication design, and film & video projects — especially when it comes to visual identity, brand design, promotional videos, and films across various fields
On top of that, we run a solid-wood brand called FORT NOW. We also handle structure design and installations as well.

BESIDE TIME

〈시간의 옆 Beside Time〉은 2018년 7월을 시작으로 매일 일몰 시간 언저리에 해가 지는 하늘의 그라디언트색상을 채집하고 그래픽으로 옮기는 프로젝트에서 시작된 전시입니다. 과거에서 전달된 빛은 디지털 장치에 담기고 빛을 나타내는 정보들은  장치 간 이동 / 매체에 따라 다른 데이터 속성 값으로 기록되는 점을 눈여겨보아 이를 다양하게 표현하고자 하였습니다. 전시에서는 총 여덟 개의 작품으로 구성하고, 분절된 시간 단위 포맷 속에서 일련의 규칙으로 작업하였습니다. 해당 전시는 부산진문화재단의 지원을 받았습니다.〈Beside Time〉is an exhibition that began with a quiet, daily ritual: since July 2018, the fading colors of the sky were collected and translated into graphic gradients. Light from the past is captured through digital devices, and as it moves across different media and systems, it leaves behind traces—each recorded with its own data properties. This subtle transformation of light became a point of focus, explored through various forms. The exhibition is composed of eight pieces, each created within a set rhythm, shaped by fragmented units of time. \

Young-sue is a furniture designer, furniture maker, and graphic designer. She loves collecting, recording, archiving & visualizing and is deeply interested in the moment when space becomes a place.
